The Florence copper in situ project in Florence is expected to have a 70% recovery rate, substantially higher than the 49% rate that BHP calculated when they owned the resource. Dan Johnson of Curis Resources, the project developer, told the Arizona Mining Alliance that they estimate producing copper for about $1 per pound. Copper is running about $3.70 per pound on the spot market. [Right, cross section of in situ project. Credit, Curis Resources]
